This 20 cm decorative plate is a true fleamarket find, carefully selected and transformed into a Very Ugly Plates statement piece. Featuring a delicate rococo lady holding a pink balloon and the unapologetic words HAPPY UNEMPLOYMENT, it’s soft, romantic and slightly unhinged — just how we like it.

And here’s the plot twist:

The entire story of Very Ugly Plates actually started with a different “Happy Unemployment” plate that still hangs in my gallery today. It was one of the first pieces that made people laugh, stop, and ask questions. It turned quiet porcelain into loud commentary. This plate continues that legacy.
